About Wesley Coats
A lifetime dedicated to country music and teaching, bringing authentic Texas Panhandle style to every lesson with over four decades of experience.

Musical Journey
Raised in the Wheeless Community of Cimarron County, Oklahoma, my musical journey began with the inspiration of Michelle's great Uncle Billy Pitman. For 49 years, I've been living and breathing country music, influenced by legends like Brooks and Dunn, Chet Atkins, and George Strait.

Performance Experience
Currently performing with 12 Gauge (30+ years) and Katie Beth Mihm and Coyote Rose, bringing authentic country music to venues across the Texas Panhandle. My experience includes performances with Texas Hits and a Miss, showcasing the rich tradition of Texas country music.

Personal Life
Now living in the Texas Panhandle with my wife Michelle (Spilman) Coats, we've built a life rich in music and family over our 40 years of marriage. Blessed with 20 grandchildren (and one on the way), plus a great-grandchild expected soon, our family continues to grow and thrive in the heart of Texas.
Teaching Philosophy
With 42 years of teaching experience, I believe in sharing not just technique, but the heart and soul of country music. Drawing from decades of real-world performance and the rich traditions of Texas country music, I help each student find their own voice while building a strong foundation in guitar.
